As a student in Nigeria, graduation can be a happy experience in a life time. One of the good things about it is the fact that you are a degree holder now. But another bad news is that finding a job in Nigeria can be really tough. Recently, another set of the NIGERIA YOUTH SERVICE CORPS passed out from their various places of service. That's a good one but considering entering into the job market in the present day Nigeria, one must ask his or herself one question.
How employable am l?
If you can ask yourself the above question, you will then know whether you are ready to get a job or not. Trust me all the multi nationals out there are not hiring you because of your degree or PhD!. You have to prove it!
What are you going to offer to the firm or company that is about giving you job?
That is by the way. Another problem facing an average Nigerian student is that many of them lack vocational skills. They failed to discover and develop their talent while in school. That's not good at all. As a student in the present day Nigeria, try as much as possible to keep your mind off finding a white collar job. Believe me there are few out there. Our country needs entrepreneurs that can move our economy. Try and become one before you start screaming that you can't find a job. There are many things you can do, Forex tradind, website design, poultry farming, (journalism), you can start up your own magazine publishing. There are endless of them, you just have to be innovative and see what others can't see. Remember that all the big companies you do hear of today started from somewhere, they did not just become multinationals in one day. You can became the next Aliko Dangote or Mike Adenuga etc etc.
